Sean Kingston is one of my favorite artists. He wrote two songs that are both very good. Most people have heard of the first one because it was so popular. It is called “Beautiful Girls.” The second one is my favorite of the two; it is called “Me Love”. Unfortunately, Beautiful Girls has more personifications in it so will talk about it. But first, Sean Kingston is one of my favorite artists because everything he sings about is from deep down. It is always touching. Also, it is very calm and relaxing music. I like to listen to rap usually but when I need to relax I listen to Sean Kingston because he is so soft in his music.
The song “Beautiful Girls” has two lines that are personification. First is “Oh when you took my heart that’s when we fell apart.” Somebody can’t literally take away somebody’s heart. The significance of this line is that it is talking about love and it is expressing a break up. I think it means that he really didn’t have a say in the break up. She may have been cheating on Sean Kingston meaning that she “took his heart away.” This left him no choice resulting in the break up meaning they “fell apart.” With a song like this, I’m sure there are other girls out there for him.
The second line of personification is “But you mush up my mind.” Again, whoever she is, she can’t mush up his mind literally. All it really means is that Sean Kingston was getting confused. This meant that she was changing constantly to him. She was nice and then she was tired and annoyed and she was never the same. She was acting abnormally as if something else was going on. The cheating is what I think was going on. The fact that she was acting awkwardly and was mysteriously having to leave was confusing him. No matter how you break down the song and figure out what it means, it is still a very good song.
